About Quota
Quota International Inc. was formed in 1919 in Buffalo, New York, USA by businesswoman Wanda Frey Joiner. This made Quota the world's first service club for women.
Quota International Inc. currently has 8,000 members. They are represented in 340 clubs, spread over 13 countries. The head of Quota International Inc. is in Washington DC, USA.
In 1991, Quota International Inc. did not yet have representation in Europe. That changed when Enid Croes-Marugg, the former Vice President of Quota International Aruba, made contact with Rotterdam businesswoman Sonia Ruiz.
They took up the challenge: Quota would sail into Europe in fitting style, via its biggest port city. In 1994, Quota International Netherlands became a reality, with Rotterdam as the home base of the first European Quota Club. Currently the Quota International Netherlands have three clubs (Rotterdam, Zeist and Zutphen) and two branches (Rotterdam and Amsterdam) In comparison with a club: a branch has a small(er) number of members and has not yet registered standing rules..
